ICARUS
#691
Many are familiar with the cautionary tale of Icarus who constructed wings of wax and feathers to escape the labrynth and Minotaur. Hubris took hold as his plan worked and he flew higher and higher so close to the sun his wings melted and he fell to earth. This piece was carved while traveling in Morocco, a place so hot the wax was kept melting the falling angels' wings.
